Villa Aries is an eco-awareness, masterpiece of Mediterranean architecture. A secluded luxurious seaside retreat with stunning natural surroundings
INTERIOR
The entire property has been designed to blur the boundaries between the building and its stunning natural surroundings. Completely stripped of any superfluous décor, emphasizing the vista across the rugged coastline of Crete, the ever-so-cool monochrome interiors blend harmoniously with the rough, wild Cretan landscape. Wooden floors and minimalist furnishing in light wood paired with glass walls, steel and rock elements offer a twist that allows guests to remain focused on the views.
However, the X-Factor here is privacy: Bask in the serenity of a secluded property and drink in the endless blue of breathtaking sea views even from the beds of its three master bedrooms.
The first master bedroom, located on the ground floor, features an en-suite bathroom and, through its vast glass opening offers an unsurpassed view to the sea and to the illuminated rocks. The second and the master bedroom with ensuite bathroom located on the lower level has direct access to the plunge pool. A third master bedroom with its bathroom are found on the lower floor of the villa.
An absolutely autonomous guesthouse for visitors further enhances the feeling of exclusivity in this majestic villa as everything here adds up to an utterly relaxing retreat for families looking to connect and/or friends looking to relax and recharge in absolute serenity and total privacy.
EXTERIOR
Layering itself down the side of a rocky cliff, the villa is cut into the landscape effortlessly embracing the elements of nature. Details, such as the big rock which has been turned into an element of the structure, or the small waterfall linking the property’s main pool with a plunge pool a level below, create a restful sanctuary of peace and serenity just a stone’s throw from the beach. Meanwhile, the pool’s glass edge makes you feel as though the water flows right into the sea! Throughout the villa guests are encouraged to indulge in a joyful sense of harmony, which appeals to devotees of the Cretan spirit.
In this enchanting hideaway eco-awareness coexists with contemporary aesthetics. Frugal lines and straight edges frame the raw magnificence of the natural setting high above the Libyan Sea, without sacrificing the comfort of direct accessibility by car.

THE VILLAGE OF LIVADIA
Livadia, is located in the south-Western part of Crete, at a distance of 72 km from Chania and 31 km from Kissamos. The village is located in the middle of the European hiking path E4 – a seaside route of exceptional natural beauty – that extends from the village of Kambos through the villages of Livadia, Chrissoskalitisa and Elafonisi. The route is typical of the rugged beauty of Crete with amazing scenery alternations from olive and locust trees to sea-beaten rocks of black and red volcanic lava.
In the village of Livadia, buying food is still done in the traditional way – you may buy fish from the fishermen in the small harbor, vegetables, dairy products and meat from the farmers, but you can also find some small taverns. There is a grocery store in the village of Chrisoskalitissa and larger supermarkets in the villages of Platanos and Kissamos. A gas station is located in the village of Platanos.
WEST CRETE
The west coast of Crete is considered to be one of the most admired regions of the island as it combines all the virtues of Crete; magnificent sandy beaches, pure, wild landscape, rich flora with unique herbs and flowers as well as all the particular elements of the Cretan tradition.
This magical journey begins with the chance to explore Balos and Elafonisi, beaches that are ranked in the Top 10 Beaches in Europe by Tripadvisor.com users or any other of the numerous beaches of Western Crete.
Besides from all those natural beauties, visitors can taste the traditional cuisine in a variety of small local taverns which can be found around the beautiful villages, savor wine and tsikoudia, the well renowned cretan drink in the company of locals or go fishing and enjoy trips around Western Crete.
Even though the area of Elafonisi is mainly known for the tropical beach with the turquoise waters and the golden pink sand, the area has a lot more to offer. Visitors can be part of numerous eco- activities or excursions and trips around the area.
Spreading from Balos and Falasarna to Sfinari, Livadia, Elafonisi and Krios peninsula in Paleohora, Western Crete welcomes its visitors to a memorable experience close to nature and tradition.
