POINT OF VIEW is built on levels around the old stone windmill (built 200 years ago) and concerning the traditional architecture of the island.

The Villa has located only 6 km from the port of Athinios, 10 km from the airport and 9 km from the island’s capital, Fira. AKROTIRI

In the village of Akrotiri was created one of the most important prehistoric cultures of the world. According to archaeologists, Akrotiri was inhabited from 4500 BC. In the 18th century, BC Akrotiri was an organized city destroyed by the volcanic eruption in the 17th century BC. The volcanic lava that covered the prehistoric settlement of Akrotiri left untouched the architecture and a series of murals that give us information for the everyday life in the ancient city.

The archaeological site of Akrotiri, located very close to POINT OF VIEW reopened its doors in the spring of 2012 after the reconstruction of the roof. Today awaits visitors to bring them in contact with one of the oldest civilizations of the Mediterranean Sea as they walk through the streets of the city of Akrotiri.

Apart from the archaeological site, the popular village of Akrotiri is a quiet seaside village with many taverns and a beautiful Goula (castle-observatory) at the top that deserves a visit during your stay in POINT OF VIEW.
